"Those who dive deep in the sea of affliction bring up rare pearls" -
Charles Spurgeon
We find ourselves swimming as we seek not just rare pearls but "The
Pearl of Great Value" who is more cherished then all our possessions
and life itself. God is the source of our life and the goal of our
hope but the experiences of life have worn us down like Elijah sitting
beneath his broom tree in 1 Kings 19. Not only does our God let fire
fall from heaven but he also used fire to make Elijah a cake, telling
him to eat and rest "for the journey is too great for you."
God strengthened, then God spoke. We need both to continue in the
journey that God has laid before us. While human ability is limited,
our God is infinitely great.
In light of this reality Pioneers has asked us to be strengthened
under a "broom tree" out in California for the month of July. This is
a special time and place for missionaries to receive Christian
counseling, health and growth for the entire person - physical,
emotional, and spiritual. Our prayer is that this time in California
will strengthen us for the journey as we wait for God to speak so we
can continue in our walk of obedience in his strength.
Unfortunately this means we will need to cancel the speaking
engagements we scheduled during the month of July. This is also an
expensive process but we feel it is necessary to continue forward.
Would you please pray about giving to this need that reaches above
$7,000? Thank you!
