DrAungMyanmar Center for Theological Studies
Formerly Burma, the country of Myanmar is ruled by a cruel and power-hungry dictatorship. In 1966, the government expelled all Christian missionaries, but the church of Myanmar continued to grow, training its own indigenous pastors and sending out Burmese missionaries to other parts of the world. Under the leadership of founder Rev. Dr Aung, the MCTS has been a vibrant part of this spiritual awakening. Each year it sends many students back into the nation as well-trained, solidly-founded pastors and teachers. theBridge sends at least one team annually to work with Dr. Aung and the MCTS, leading seminars, teaching students, and providing practical and financial support. Dr. Aung also visits and speaks at theBridge whenever possible.

ChurchPlantersMyanmar Church Planters
In addition to supporting the MCTS, theBridge partners with several Burmese pastors as they plant churches throughout the country of Myanmar. The government strongly opposes Christianity, and these brave men and women are risking everything to spread the hope of the Gospel under the controlling political forces. During the annual visits to Myanmar, theBridge members also speak in these churches, encouraging the leaders and building relationships with the Burmese people at these locations.

MyanmarOrphanagesMyanmar Orphanages
For years, the Burmese government, afraid of the spread of Christianity, has been shutting down Christian orphanages throughout the country. After the devastating cyclone that struck Myanmar on May 2, 2008, hundreds, perhaps thousands of children were left homeless and alone. Relief organizations were banned from assisting, and with more devastation and political pressure than ever, orphanages are now completely overwhelmed. Many fear these displaced children will now be exploited for cheap labor. Because theBridge has been supporting several Burmese orphanages for years, so far we have been able to avoid the government’s ban on outside relief and continue our efforts to rescue these children.

Foursquare Missions International
The ministry of The Foursquare Church extends beyond local churches and reaches across the globe. Foursquare Missions International (FMI) unites those local churches and lets Christians serve in missions across the world, in both on short-term trips and beyond. Churches can send short-term teams in the USA and abroad through World Impact teams, and teens get an opportunity to serve with Foursquare Youth Outreach. World Base allows people to serve on multi-national teams that assist in church planting and ministry in international urban areas.
